Life in the "Livable Forest."
So today on my morning walk, I saw....
A bunny...
A turtle...
A heron...
And...
AN ALLIGATOR!!!
Yes, an alligator. A real, live, boggley-eyed, alligator! What's funny is on the walk they have signs around the lake that say "Caution: Alligator in Lake." But it has this picture of a funny cartoon character of an alligator, which really made me think, "What a funny joke."
No joke. Real alligator.
Maybe Kingwood should change it's name to Kingwood, "The Livable Jungle?" Just a thought...

Disses & Kisses
Okay, so I am COMPLETELY stealing this blog post idea from my favorite wedding photographer, Jasmine Star, who I still stalk on a regular basis, because well...she's just that amazing. When Ty looks over my shoulder and sees me reading wedding-related blogs, I feel I have an excuse when I'm reading J*'s, because it's inspirational:) I get a pass for that one, right???
Anyways, back to the post. She does a weekly disses and kisses post that I figured is the perfect way to help keep me posting at least once a week. And it's fun. So here goes...
This week's disses go to:
*Moving. Thanks a lot moving, now I can't find anything I'm looking for. Ever. Like that camera cord that would have made blog posting so much more fun with new pictures.
*Cake Batter Cookies. Yeah, umm...these are of the devil. For some reason I can't convince my mouth to think otherwise and stop shoveling them down!
*Paint. Creativity flowed wild as soon as we moved in to our new little place we call home, and I have the blue paint in my hair to show for it. Awesome.
This week's kisses go to:
*Moving. I really do love you Texas! You are so pretty with all your greenery and wildlife. I was on a walk and saw the most beautiful doe, two of them! Then a tomato-red cardinal flew past, it's like I walked on the set of Bambi or something:)
*YMCA. I already have a membership. Holla! Maybe this will help with the issue of the Cake Batter Cookies?
*Paint. My pretty blue with black trim bathroom rocks. Pics coming as soon as I find the camera cord!

We Made It!!!
Just wanted to send a quick update to let everyone know that WE MADE IT!!!
After seventeen hours on the road...little to no phone reception...and endless rounds of car karaoke, WE MADE IT!!!
I will post what few pics we took as soon as I can find the cords to upload them from my camera. But for now I just wanted to say - hello:)
Hope everyone out there had a fabulous Fourth! Expect many updates soon.

On the Road...Almost!
Well, it's that time! We are nearly packed, wrapped, stuffed, and padded (with fingers crossed that nothing breaks!) into our U-Haul.
I've loaded gazillions of songs onto my ipod (thanks, Taylor!), stocked up on road snacks, and have an overnight bag all ready for Kerrville (our pit-stop tomorrow night).
I keep checking the various lists we have going to make certain we've really completed all our tasks, and now all that's left to do is blog:) Yes, that was a "to-do." Like I promised, I'm going to do my best to blog, tweet, text, and chronicle our entire trip, so I figure a getting a blogging start was the way to go!
Thanks to everyone who helped us out with music choices, meals, laughs, and well-wishes over the last couple weeks! We are going to miss all our AZ friends, but it's not good-bye, so much as it is, "See you later." We'll be back for many a visit and will look forward to seeing you all again soon.
I will be in touch! Pray for safe and smooth travels for us, we'll be keeping you all updated over the next couple days:)

Calling all readers!!!
As you all know by now, we're moving to Texas.
AND as much as I wish I could click my heels together three times, a la Dorothy-style, and land in Texas faster than you can say Schenectady three times fast, alas it cannot be.
This means we have a L.O.N.G. drive ahead of us.
Which also means, be prepared for lots of funny pictures, tweets, and (if I'm real motivated) maybe even a mid-way blog!
From Scottsdale, AZ to Kingwood, TX it's approximately 17 hours. Yes, as in 17 hours. I have never sat still for that long in my life. In fact, I don't think I've sat longer than 3 hours straight. Call it an over-active bladder or restless leg syndrome (my Mom claims she really has this), either way, I don't just sit for that long without at least getting up and DOING something.
So, I need help readers! Please send me your best playlists for a LONG road trip. I have a lot of classical music, calming music, and then dance music to work out to...but road-trippin' music I am without.
So would you all be so dear as to leave some suggestions in the comments field? I have approximately 14 days till the ipod needs to be locked and loaded;)
And because every blog post is made better with a picture, here ya go!
Raleigh remembers to stop and smell the fake flowers, do you?

P.S. Why Schenectady you say? Why not?

The Neeley's
So before too much more time passes, I must update the blog with photos of Brionna, Brad, Brayden, and Brock who all came out to visit us two weeks ago. Or has it been longer??? We've been so busy finalizing the details on Ty's new job offer and then jumping right into packing and all the other "fun" details that go along with such a big move.
But we had such a GREAT time with the Neeley's and while we may not be hosting them again in AZ, we know we'll definitely be having them over for some sweet tea once we get settled into our new home in Texas!
I've known Brionna since I was 12, yikes, 12 really? Really? How time flies! And I am so thrilled that after all these years we're still close and I get to see her and her beautiful family grow.
Brayden showing off his cute grin and ice cream cone:
The one and only picture Brionna and I got together the whole weekend! Geez, we weren't very good at the picture thing, were we??
That's okay, we'll get more pictures on the next visit!
